Quick & Easy Snacks

Eating the same bag of chips or store bought snacks can get quite old and boring. This is why I have made you a list of some of the easiest snacks to make there is. These are yummy recipes that are simple to make and amazing to eat. Try these next ideas for your next craving!

1. Peanut Butter Honey Oats

If you come to my house, you can guarantee that these will be sitting on the counter at all times. They only take around 5 minutes to make and if you're a fanatic for anything peanut butter then you will love them!

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups old-fashion oats

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup honey

DIRECTIONS:

Combine Peanut butter and honey into microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 45 seconds or until melted. Stir the mixture and follow by folding the oats into the bowl until combined. Put mixture into a non-stick pan and let sit for at-least an hour before serving.

2. Pretzel Turtles

These are the perfect snacks for small sweet treat or a salty craving. However, be warned, because you might eat the whole pan!

INGREDIENTS:

mini pretzel twist

Rolo's

pecan halves

DIRECTIONS:

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees F. Place pretzels flat onto a baking sheet and sit the Rolo's in the middle of the pretzels. Place pan in the oven and allow the Rolo's to become soft, but not melted (around 5 minutes). Once you pull the pan out of the oven, immediately press the pecans in the Rolo, making it flatten out (as pictured). Set aside to cool completely.

3. 3-ingredient Oreo bars

Marshmallows, Oreo's, and butter, what could be a more perfect combination;) If you are not a baker, but want to have something more exciting than just plain old store bought cookies, this will take it to the next level!

INGREDIENTS:

One 16 oz package of Oreo

5 cups large marshmallows

4 tablespoons butter

DIRECTIONS:

Ground Oreo cookies up completely using a food processor (or by placing into a Ziploc bag and crushing). Melt marshmallows and butter in a microwave safe bowl until puffed (around 1 1/2 minutes). Stir in the crushed Oreo cookies until combined. Transfer the mixture into a lined 8 x 8 inch pan and let sit for up to 10 minutes.

4. Nutella and Banana Sushi

Chocolate + bananas = the perfect combination! This treat is quick to make and will never disappoint.

INGREDIENTS:

Flour tortilla

1 banana

Nutella

DIRECTIONS:

Spread desired amount of Nutella on a flour tortilla. Place banana on tortilla and roll it up. Cut into 1 inch slices and enjoy! Yep, it's that easy and quick!

5. Fresh Fruit Pops

Healthy, fun, and yummy! These fruit pops are the perfect treat for playing outside and cooling off + they're easy to make!

INGREDIENTS:

Fruit of your choice

Juice or your choice (or I have used coconut milk and have found it very yummy)

DIRECTIONS:

Place fruit into a Popsicle mold or if you do not have that, you can use a plastic up and place a wooden spoon stick in the middle of the fruit. Pour desired juice into the mold and place popsicle in freezer until frozen.

6. Apple Nachos

Love nachos? Put this healthier twist on them for a fun snack!

INGREDIENTS:

Apple slices

Caramel

Melted marshmallows (I prefer to leave this ingredient out)

toppings as desired (sprinkles, nuts, chocolate chips, etc.)

DIRECTIONS:

Lay apple slices on a plate and spread them out evenly. Drizzle caramel topping over apple slices evenly and follow the same procedure with the marshmallow mixture if desired. Top with all your favorite nuts, chocolate chips, sprinkles, or whatever else you may find in your pantry;) Enjoy!

7. Frozen Blueberry and Yogurt Kebabs

This is a quick, healthy snack that you can make and store in freezer for later!

INGREDIENTS:

Blueberries

Yogurt of your choice (Greek works best)

WILL NEED:

Kebab sticks

Baking paper

DIRECTIONS:

Thread blueberries on to the kebab stick. Put yogurt in either a tall cup for dipping the blueberries or spread it on a plate for rolling the blueberries. After coating with yogurt, place the kebabs on baking paper and place in the freezer for 2 hours. Eat immediately when removed from freezer.

8. 3-Ingredient S'mores Bars

This recipe does take some time to bake, but it is quick to make for an easy dessert that's yummy and only calls for 3 ingredients.

INGREDIENTS:

1 package pre-made cookie dough (thawed)

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme

DIRECTIONS:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F and spray an 8 inch square pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, knead 3/4 graham cracker crumbs in the cookie dough until combined. Press 1/2 of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake 12 minutes. Spoon marshmallow creme evenly over the partially baked dough and sprinkle the remaining graham cracker crumbs on top. Spread remaining cookie dough over marshmallow creme and bake 20 to 25 minutes.

9. Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas

If you cannot figure out what to do with those over ripe bananas, now you do! These are perfect for an easy morning breakfast or the perfect afternoon snack.

INGREDIENTS:

2 slightly over ripe bananas

2 tablespoons of sugar

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

DIRECTIONS:

Slice the bananas into rounds (around 1/3 inch thickness). In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. spray a cooking pan with non-stick spray and set to medium heat. Place banana slices in pan and sprinkle 1/2 of the above mixture on banana slices. Cook 2-3 minutes (or until lightly browned) and flip over bananas. Sprinkle remaining mixture on bananas and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

10. Cheerio Treats

Once again, anything with peanut butter has my name written all over it! This treat is extremely yummy and is very different from your ordinary snack + once you make you once, it is the easiest recipe to remember.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of corn syrup

1 cup of peanut butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla

5 cups of cheerios

DIRECTIONS:

In a large sauce pan, combine sugar and corn syrup and bring to boil over medium heat. Allow mixture to boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla to sauce pan and mix until smooth and combined. Add cheerios and mix until all coated. Drop mixture with a spoon on a wax sheet and allow to cool completely.
