[LIVING] Your Life

As a senior in high school, I get asked nearly every week:

"Where do you want to go to college?"

"What career path are you looking towards?"

"How do you want to live your life?"

... and most of the time my answer to these questions is that I am unsure. Some people are accepting of the fact that I do not have a 100% guarantee, but some others are not. I personally do not think knowing the answers to these questions is a necessity in my life right now. Now, I am not saying that people need to put off these question (or forms of these questions) in life (because they are VERY important), but what I am trying to say is that we do not need to surround ourself with the worry of the future and forget to actually LIVE. We can tend to get caught up in the stress of the future so easily and once we get to the future, we realize it is too late to get back the life you spent worrying. For adults, this worry can be related to finance, family, or career as well. There are many measures that we should take to make sure that we LIVE and not just merely "go through life". As humans, we try to find a security to these questions, but the truth is that we cannot do it, because that is for God and His power. When we believe in God to plan our way, we receive an eternal inheritance through God's power. HE will provide, HE will stabilize, HE will lead the way. So the first thing we need to do to make sure we are LIVING is to give it all to God and trust that he has you stabilized and that He already has a plan for you.

The second thing that we need to do is not let ourselves be our own prison. The biggest thing that holds a person is back is self-doubt and believing the wrong things. If you are the reason you are not truly living, LET GO! Let go of the little mind that says you cannot do it, the un-hopefulness of dreams, and the thought that says you will do it tomorrow. Do Not wait. LIVING LIFE is doing what your heart, mind, and Jesus calls you to do at that moment.

The third thing you need to do is to find your purpose. Each person has a different purpose designed by God. Once you know your purpose, you can set goals and move towards them each day. It is good to plan for the future, it is the worrying of the future that blinds us of our life.

One of my favorite things to do to truly live life is to appreciate the little things. Look around you, appreciate the things that you have that others do not. Find beauty in the midst of any situation. Look outside, at the beauty that our God created. Do not do things to "just do them", instead do them because you want to. DO NOT take any moment for granted.

Listen to what your heart tells you. This does not mean to completely dismiss advice that others give you, but rather to remain confident in your decisions. If you are doing what others tell you to do, how are you LIVING your life? That is more like living the life that the other person wants you to live.

BE SPONTANEOUS! Life is too short to not take advantage of what the world has to offer you. Do not stay confined to one area. God designed this great big world for you and me. Go on random adventures at 3 am, make last minute road trips, say 'yes' to things that you want to do.

A "perfect" life does not happen over time. It takes you to create it. The greatest thing about creating a perfect life, is that the choice is yours to do it. No one can hold you back if you do not let them. You can either sit down and go through your daily routine of dreaming of one day, or you can start your one day today. It's up to you. What will you do?

Bible Verses & Quotes:

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist." -Oscar Wilde

"The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams." -Oprah Winfrey
